The Flag Tours Massachusetts

On May 5, 2003, NAMI-Massachusetts kicked off Mental Health Month with "Celebrate Revery" and a flag ceremony. The flag was displayed in the Massachusetts State House. The National Lieutenant Governors’Association (NLGA) is sponsoring a project to eliminate stigma and promote mental health awareness, organized around the bold and striking mental health flag designed and hand-painted by Kristy Worthen of NAMI Arkansas.

Opening remarks were received from Toby Fisher, Executive Director, and Jean DeRosa, President of NAMI-Massachusetts. Speakers included Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey, former member of the NAMI national board of directors, Fred Frese, Ph.D., and Massachusetts State Senator, Sue Tucker.
